Peter Apap Holden Torana At Eastern Creek Drag Way

My first run down the quarter mile in 33 years with a Torana ! I took the
green torana for a test run last wed night to the drags too see how I can
handle it !! I was full off nerves I had a terrible reaction time and I
fuked up on the start line and made a mistake by starting off in second gear
!! I still ended up running a 11.2 sec run with a speed off 125 MPH. The
car will easily run 10 sec passes when I get used to getting better take
offs. The other car ran a 12.5 pass ! it was a Dodge Challenger 440cube
engine !!

Un belivable fun !! Love my daughters commentary !!

Enjoy. Peter.

Today 3rd August 2014,I entered my A9X into the All Holden Day at Richmond ,

and my A9X was awarded the Top Perpetual award for car off the day !!

Top day but a very dusty day so dry out there in Richmond. !!

BBHVC CAR RUN # 5      Sunday 16th May, 2010

Penrith to Sofala to Home

Apologies for the delay in the newsletter but here it finally is.

It was good to see every member on the run. You may say that Vince was not there, but he sent his better half which counts. He was there in spirit as you will see later in this newsletter.

We were all on time and left the Coffee Club at 9am sharp. Paul told me that he used a new additive in his fuel and it was blowing a “bit” of smoke!!!!!!!!! We put Paul up front because “he knew where he was going” and James stayed at the back to pick up the strays. I don’t know whose idea it was to put Paul at the front but I was behind him and I couldn’t see where I was going.

While travelling along Castlereagh Rd I had a phone call from the El Presidente. He told me that he heard on the 2UE traffic report in Wagga that a blue ute travelling along Northern Rd Penrith was causing traffic havoc with all the smoke it was blowing. We were having high level discussions regarding Paul taking out the “Weakest Link”. Then Paul turned left down a side street – which was supposed to be a shortcut. Surprise surprise – it was the wrong street. So we decided that this put the icing on the cake and that the trophy was his.

We stopped at Lithgow so we could all “bunch up” (this is Maurice speak). The girls did not like where we stopped so we had to go to McDonalds so they could have a McToilet break. James rung up and said that Paul broke down at Mt Tomah and that they left the ute there and were just out of Lithgow.

On to Ilford we went and then to Sofala for our lunch break. The BBQ was overflowing with all different types of stuff (food I hope). Then we had DESSERT - some of us had it a  few times. Some stayed for a chat (because they ate too much) while others went into town to walk it off.

While we were chatting Paul told me that he had put a jerry can of diesel in the ute by mistake. I thought it was a bit too much smoke for an additive. He should not have told me that as this just set the trophy in concrete. I don’t think there were any other contenders for it anyway. If there was let me know.

We all had a good run home. Paul picked his ute up at Mt Tomah and made it home.

Once again another nice day. Thanks to James for organising  a  good run.

Busy Businessman's Car Run # 6 Fun Car Rally Sunday March 18 2012.

Ten participants gathered early on a fine Sunday after flood filled two weeks of rain which had postponed the event. It was great to see some of the older vehicles out for a run after such a long hiatus. The Coffee Club on the picturesque shores of the Nepean river Penrith was the venue for the start. The destination was a mystery, at around 10am with every one in possession of the clues and required tasks, we were off!, except the girls in the Capri who made a couple of U turns before getting their bearings at the start? The phone box stop kept most amused, some missed it altogether! at one stage I saw Johns Statesman coming from the opposite direction!, the cemetery question had people running around all over the place counting graves!!!, best cemetery tombstone video went to Maurice with his sad tale of someone he knew nothing of and how unfortunate the poor soul was to die before sampling yet to be invented Red Lea chicken! The stop at the Bilpin Fruit Bowl was also a fun flurry of activity, my thanks to Simon and family for their lovely homemade apple pies and warm hospitality. We all made it to our final mystery destination, Mt Tomah Botanical gardens for lunch and present the winners, The girls in the Capri, a box of toilet paper kindly donated by Peduba Cleaning, although Paul was away his lovely wife Cheryl made the presentation, also presenting the award given to last place Louie in the HD which was? you guessed it, a box of two ply toilet paper!. My thanks to Kirsten at Mt Tomah and all who came along to enjoy the day and a special thanks to my assistant Bridgette for putting in the time effort and support preparing all the paperwork.
Regards Butch.
